Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced interruptions to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has increased assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and three other people were wounded.

The assaults follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for additional strikes.
